My experience and achievement of the
SR Sankaran Super students’ Lecture Trophy - 2020 of TSWRDCs
I am Lady Cadet Sunkari Pallavi, MPC, Batch (2018-2021) from Telangana Social
Welfare Residential Armed Forces Preparatory Degree College for Women, Bhongir.
The concept in TSWR institutions “EARN WHILE YOU LEARN” provides opportunities
to outstanding students of Degree colleges to participate in live teaching
competitions on T-SAT channel as super students. For me super student is a
perfect blend of opportunity and ambiance that has been a great learning
experience and helped me explore new dimensions in the study of Physics.
Firstly, I thank Secretary of TSWREIS, for the immense opportunities provided
in our colleges.
I have participated in college level SR Sankaran Super Students competition
in the subject of Physics on the topic “Nanotechnology and its applications”
and was selected at the college level and later represented myself at zonal
level and I got selected there too.
My mentors who are extremely knowledgeable and always accessible,
motivated and helped me in preparing Power Point Presentations and other
nuances of how to be confident and presentable. There were days when my mentor
and myself kept working till 3 o' clock in the morning. My topic at state level
competition was “Maglev Trains Theory or Technology”. As the topics
given at state level are research oriented which provided me great opportunity
for me to broaden my knowledge beyond my field of studies. The undying passion
for Physics helped me more to know and understand the research concept such as
Maglev trains theory or technology.
One might become apprehensive thinking about the competition, but I kept
my cool and was only thinking about my presentation and performance. February
28, 2020 was the date of state-level competition and I was to present in T-SAT
Live for about 30 minutes. Thankfully, with all the hard work and confidence
given by my mentors, I gave my best shot and deep inside was expecting to be in
the winners’ list.
Hard work is the key to success. Many inspirational fables are there to
prove this great fact. Very few opportunities provide exposure and realistic
outlook towards the competitive nature of real life and Super Student
competition is one among them. I firmly believe that competitive spirit is a
mandatory mindset while competing. This competition helped me to discover my
true potential and enabled me to combine my skills and strong fundamentals
towards the challenging tasks.
The results arrived and everybody started congratulating me for winning first
prize in the competition. Then I realized that I bagged the prestigious “SR
Sankaran Super Student’s Lecture Trophy for the A.Y 2019 -20. I believe
strong will and unwavering focus have earned me prize in the competition.
Competitions play a vital role in motivating students to perform and
excel and offer a lot more reward than just the winning prize. They also offer
a chance to participants to gain substantial experience, show case skills,
analyze and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude.
Nothing can be done without hope and confidence. I invariably possess
both and combined with hard work made me 1st prize winner at the state-level
competition and also earned cash prize for me and my mentors (Major Usha Sharma
(Director, MT, TSWRAFPDCW, Bhongir), K. Spandana, Lecturer in Physics,
TSWRAFPDCW, Bhongir). I have a deep sense of gratitude for the knowledge and
confidence that my mentors imparted.
